South Darley C.E. Primary School offers wraparound care from 8.00am to 6.00pm: a morning club every school day, Monday to Friday, and an after-school club from Monday to Thursday. Some schools call a morning club a breakfast club. Ours is an activity club: we don’t serve breakfast at the moment, but the school and governors are actively looking at introducing a 'breakfast' club.

Morning club

South Darley’s morning club opens at 8.00am every school day, Monday to Friday. Our staff run film and construction clubs, and outside PE coaches run sports clubs. Clubs have included multi-skills, computers, netball, construction, board games, Kwik Cricket, film and gardening.

Morning club costs £2.50 a session, or £25 a term for a regular weekly morning booked and paid for in advance. Please book in advance, with a day’s notice for a one-off session, so that we know who to expect. Payment is through ParentPay.

After-school club

South Darley’s after-school club runs on site from the end of the school day until 6.00pm, Monday to Thursday. It doesn’t currently run on Fridays only because no family has asked for it: if you need a Friday afternoon, tell us and we will actively consider it.

The cost depends on collection time: £7 until 4.30pm, £9 until 5.00pm, £11 until 5.30pm and £13 until 6.00pm. A £25 charge applies if a child is collected after 6.00pm. Children have a snack and a drink at 4.30pm.

To guarantee a place, complete the after-school club booking form before the start of each half term. We can take late bookings, but we can’t always guarantee a place. If your plans change, please tell the school and the club who is collecting your child.

Using both clubs

At South Darley you can use morning club, after-school club or both, just on the days you need. If your child is in Reception, please think carefully before booking both clubs on the same day, as school days are long for four-year-olds.

Holidays

South Darley doesn’t run its own holiday club, but we will point families towards holiday providers in the local area. Derbyshire County Council: childcare and holiday providers
