Lower Juniors
Class teacher: Mr Wilde Year groups: Years 3 and 4
Lower Juniors is where children step up into Key Stage 2 and start to stretch themselves. With Years 3 and 4 together, Mr Wilde and other teachers, build on the strong foundations laid in Infants and opens up new challenges — from the four-year topic rotation that makes our curriculum distinctive, to learning a musical instrument for the first time.
Every child in the juniors learns an instrument through our partnership with Derbyshire Music Partnership — and music is just the start. Swimming, forest school, educational visits and a wide programme of enrichment activities mean there's always something to look forward to.
In a small class, the teachers know every child well. That means learning is pitched to stretch each child at their own level, whether they need extra support or extra challenge. It's one of the real advantages of a school this size.
