Our Infants class is where your child's school journey begins. With Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 learning together, it's a warm, nurturing environment where every child is known and supported from their very first day.

Miss Gill leads the class, supported by Mrs Fletcher, who focusses on our Reception children. In a class of this size, they know every child's strengths, interests and next steps — and that means your child gets the individual attention that makes a real difference in these crucial early years.

Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum in Reception before moving into the national curriculum in Years 1 and 2. Reading is at the heart of everything — we use Twinkl Phonics to build strong foundations, and every child reads regularly with an adult. Maths follows the White Rose scheme, with plenty of practical, hands-on learning.

The mixed-age setting means younger children are inspired by what they see older ones doing, while older children develop confidence and responsibility. It's one of the things that makes a small school special.
