Sports
Sport and physical activity are an important part of life at South Darley. Every child takes part in regular PE lessons, and we offer a wide range of activities and competitions throughout the year.
Our children benefit from professional coaching through Qualitas, alongside PE taught by our own staff. We are members of the Rural Derbyshire Schools Sports Partnership, which gives our children the chance to compete against other schools and take part in festivals and events across the area.
We run morning sports clubs to encourage children to be active before the school day begins, and every child in Year 6 completes Bikeability cycle training. Swimming is part of our curriculum — in recent years, 100% of our Year 6 children have met the national standard for swimming and water safety.
We hold a School Games Silver award in recognition of our commitment to sport and competition.
PE and Sport Premium
The PE and Sport Premium is government funding given to primary schools to improve PE and sport. We publish a statement each year showing how we use this funding and the impact it has on our children's participation and achievement. You can read our most recent statements below.
